The business was incorporated in 2001 and has an extremely good reputation within the industry.
It is a member of the National Working Group responsible for drawing up proposals for regulating the industry and a founder member of the Association of Nanny Agencies.
It is a benchmark for Safety Standards and has helped to set up the Code of Practice with the Unions.
In 2005, it purchased another nanny agency in South London and relocated it to their North London office in July 2006.
Unfortunately at that stage the company virtually ceased until September 2006 as the Business Owner ( BO ) had to spend a considerable amount of time within her husband’s company.
The company a wide variety of candidates including nannies, maternity nurses and mother’s helps and one of London’s most well-known agencies.
61% of their turnover is daily nannies and 26% part time.
Other than the BO, who is hardly involved in the business, there is a part time receptionist / administrative person who works four days per week at a salary of £12K
The business operates from 2,000 sq ft of offices in north London at a current rental of £18,000 per annum. The lease has approximately 3 years to run but it is felt the business could be run from home.
During the year ended 30th September 2005, the original company had a turnover of £53K and the acquired company a turnover of £82K.
For the 8 months from October 2005 to May 2006, the original company had a turnover of £34K and the acquired company a turnover of £26K. At that stage the results of both companies were incorporated within the accounts of the main company but as previously stated this also coincided with the virtual cessation of trading and during the next 4 months the turnover of the two companies was only £7K.
In October 2006, the BO once again became involved in the business and the turnover for the 7 months to April 2007 was £22K.
The BO would like to devote her time to other interests but is willing to remain for a period to be agreed.
